Benvenuti to Italy

HC Bike Tours’ owner and the rest of the team will meet you at the Milan airport in the morning. From there you will be provided with a transfer to the hotel. Our hotel is in Bormio where the Giro is going to finish Stage 16. A bit later, our team will help you to set up your bicycle. An enjoyable picnic lunch will be served after which we will take off for a warm-up ride. The plan is to ride Passo Mortirolo. If it is too late, we will take a shorter route up to Lago di Cancano. In the evening, we will have a traditional Italian dinner. We will let a chef surprise us.

Day 2 - Tuesday, May 23

Giro d’Italia Stage 16 LIVE at Passo dello Stelvio

Early breakfast and we are off for the Giro LIVE race viewing. We will ride the last two climbs of Stage 16 just few hours before the pros. We will climb the Stelvio from Bormio side and descent it to Prato Allo Stelvio. We will stop for coffee before we head to Switzerland to ride second climb the Umbrail pass. At the top, we will stop at HC Bike Tours’ dedicated race-viewing area. A LIVE Satellite TV coverage, picnic lunch and drinks will be provided for complete enjoyment of the race. We will be back in the hotel late in the afternoon. Pasta or pizza for dinner tonight!?

Exciting and challenging day…

Passo di Gavia => Passo del Tonale (LIVE race viewing) => Madonna di Campiglio

It is going to be the longest and most likely the most challenging day of this tour. We will start our ride with the Gavia pass which is as popular as the Stelvio. We will make a short coffee break at Passo del Tonale to watch the Giro LIVE again. As soon the pros are gone, we will be back in the saddle to ride the last climb of today - Madonna di Campiglio. Riva del Garda - a fantastic town located by the lake Garda is our destination of today.

After yesterday’s long ride, a double coffee and rich breakfast will be needed today. Today`s route will take us along the lake and then up to Monte Baldo. You will love this ride. Let’s go to a special restaurant for dinner tonight!

On the way to Grappa…

Let’s head to Grappa where the final mountain stage of the Giro will be held. We will tackle several climbs on our way to Grappa including lonely backroads of Passo della Borcola and many switchbacks of a climb up to the town of Asiago. The Giro is going to finish the last mountain stage exactly in this town. We will stop for a coffee there before a long descend to our hotel in Bassano del Grappa.

We are going to witness the Giro yet again. This time, we will ride the penultimate climb of Stage 20 Monte Grappa just a few hours before the race and stop at the top of this climb to see the Giro LIVE. After the race, we will take the same route the pros just rode and ride down to our hotel. It`s time for farewell dinner in a restaurant we have reserved for you.

Breakfast in the morning and it’s time to head to the airport. We will transport you to the airport or a hotel if you are going to stay a couple of days longer. We strongly recommend you to stay few more days in Venice. It is a fascinating city you must visit.
