Welcome to the French Pyrenees

Route des Lacs (Lac d'Orédon > Lac de Cap-de-Long > Lac d'Aumar > Lac d'Aubert)

HC Bike Tours’ owner and the rest of the team will meet you at the airport in the morning. From there you will be provided with transportation to the hotel. A bit later, our team will help you to set up your bicycle.

An enjoyable picnic lunch will be served after which we will take off for a warm-up rideThe Route des Lacs is a part of the Pyrenees National Park and one of the most spectacular cycling climbs in the Pyrenees. The top of the climb is surrounded by several stunning lakes, which glisten delightful under the high mountain peaks which surround them. This protected status has prevented the Tour de France from using the climb as a stage but it`s worth to ride up there.

Most challenging day of climbing…

Port de Bales > Col de Peyresourde > Col d’Azet

We will transport you to Mauleon-Barousse in the morning. The Port de Bales climb starts there. This climb is one of our favorite climbs just as the Col d’AubisqueIt is also one of the most difficult climbs in the Pyrenees. Next two climbs are included in this year`s Stage 17. The Peyresourde climb is one of the most often crossed by the Tour already more than 50 times.

Two legendary climbs

Col d'Aspin > Col du Tourmalet

It`s time for the most legendary climb in the Pyrenees. The Tour went into the mountains for the first time in 1910 and Stage 10 in that year included five brutal climbs: Col de Peyresourde + Col d’Aspin + Col du Tourmalet + Col du Soulor + Col d’Aubisque. The Alps appeared in the Tour only one year later. The Tourmalet has already appeared in the Tour 81 time!!! The Tour will ride both climbs in this year`s Stage 19. Let`s ride it! We will take a coffee stop at the top of the Tourmalet where you still can see some bikes from 1910.

Col des Borderes > Col du Soulor > TdF LIVE at Col d'Aubisque > Col du Soulor

The Tour and so we will ride our favorite climb in the Pyrenees – Col d’Aubisque. The views at the top of Col d`Aubisque are simply fantastic. We will stop there to enjoy the views and also the Tour LIVE in our Private Race-Viewing Hospitality Area. We will ride our bikes down to our hotel in the afternoon. Well done! It`s time for farewell dinner.
